Cooking the Bacon
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
Sautéing the Vegetables
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir well to combine with the onions and bacon drippings.
Seasoning and Cooking
- Sprinkle the garlic powder, black pepper, and salt over the cabbage. Stir to coat evenly.
- Cover the skillet and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- Add the apple cider vinegar and cooked bacon back to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
