Ingredients
  

For the Quiche
  • 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade 9-inch
  • 1 cup cooked sausage crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or your choice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
For the Sausage Gravy
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage bulk or casings removed
  • 1 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Quiche
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  3. Place the pie crust in the pie dish and layer the crumbled sausage and shredded cheese evenly on the bottom.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and cheese.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
Make the Sausage Gravy
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and crumbled.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve
  1. Slice the quiche and serve warm, topped with the sausage gravy.
