Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk adjust for consistency

Method
 

Prepare the Brownies
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract, red food coloring, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
Make the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Add milk a tablespoon at a time until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
Assemble
  1. Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly on top.
  2. Cut into squares and serve.
