Prepare the Brownies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, whisking until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the red food coloring.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
Make the Cream Cheese Frosting
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined and fluffy.
Frost the Brownies
- Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
- Cut into squares and serve.
