Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened

Method
 

Prepare the Brownies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, whisking until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the red food coloring.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
Make the Cream Cheese Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined and fluffy.
Frost the Brownies
  1. Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  2. Cut into squares and serve.
