Ingredients

Chicken Liver Mixture
  • 1 pound chicken livers cleaned and trimmed
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter for sautéing
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika for flavor
  • 2 tablespoons hard-boiled egg chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method

Cooking the Chicken Livers
  1. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the cleaned chicken livers to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook until the livers are browned on the outside and slightly pink inside, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Blending the Mixture
  1. Transfer the cooked liver mixture to a food processor. Add the chopped hard-boiled egg and blend until smooth, adjusting seasoning if necessary.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with crackers or bread.
