Method
Prepare the Dish
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Heat over medium until warm, but do not boil.
Layer the Potatoes
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
Bake
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
Serve
- Let the scalloped potatoes cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
