Old Fashioned Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 4 medium Russet Potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
Sauce
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3 tablespoons Butter for greasing the dish
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese divided
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder

Method
 

Prepare the Dish
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Heat over medium until warm, but do not boil.
Layer the Potatoes
  1. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
Bake
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
Serve
  1. Let the scalloped potatoes cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
