Irish Jambon Pastries

Ingredients
  

Pastry Dough
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
Filling
  • 200 grams cooked ham finely chopped
  • 100 grams cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 egg beaten egg for egg wash

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped ham, grated cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, and chopped parsley. Mix well to combine.
Assemble the Pastries
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares (about 10x10 cm).
  2. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each pastry square. Fold the pastry over to create a triangle and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  3. Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake the Pastries
  1. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These pastries can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
