Method
Prepare the Filling
- In a bowl, combine the diced ham, shredded cheese, and mustard (if using). Mix well.
Prepare the Pastry
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into squares, approximately 4x4 inches.
Assemble the Puffs
- Place a spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to create a triangle and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
Bake
- Place the puffs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
