Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 4 medium Russet Potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese divided
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Topping
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs optional for topping
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil for drizzling

Method
 

Prepare the Potatoes
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  4. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
Bake the Dish
  1. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil, add breadcrumbs on top if using, and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  4. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a variation, try adding cooked bacon or ham between the layers for extra flavor.
