Preparation
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Pour the caramelized onions over the chicken.
- Add the French onion soup and beef broth to the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese on top and cover until melted.
