  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts boneless and skinless
  • 2 cups Onions sliced
  • 1 can French onion soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup Beef broth low sodium
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme dried
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  4. Pour the caramelized onions over the chicken.
  5. Add the French onion soup and beef broth to the crockpot.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  7. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese on top and cover until melted.
