Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups pitted cherries fresh or frozen
For the Crumb Topping
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, milk, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  4. Fold in the pitted cherries gently.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Make the Crumb Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Mix until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the cake batter.
Bake the Cake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
