Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, milk, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the pitted cherries gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Make the Crumb Topping
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the cake batter.
Bake the Cake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
