Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, beaten egg, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 hour.
Make the Filling
- In a bowl, mix grated carrots, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and softened butter until well combined.
Assemble the Rolls
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll it up tightly and cut into 8 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare the Frosting
- In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
