Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup bourbon preferably a good quality bourbon
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 1/2 soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder

Method
 

Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, and mustard powder.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until the brown sugar is dissolved.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Let the glaze simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
